El Tesoro

The Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club, partnering financially with clubs in Rotary Districts 4250 and 6270, is serving as an international sponsor to provide a basic water system to El Tesoro in the Highlands of Guatemala. El Tesoro is a community located 1 hour north of the municipality of San Martín Jilotepeque, Department of Chimaltenango. The altitude is 1491 meters above sea level, making for a temperate climate. The main economic activity is agriculture; they grow coffee, corn and beans only for their consumption and the coffee to sell. At least 20 families have migrated to the United States, because of persistent water shortages and indicate they may return as soon as the project is finished.
Highway Clean-up

The Marquette Breakfast Rotary Club has been a long-standing supporter of Michigan’s Adopt-A-Highway program. The Adopt-A-Highway program is a Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) program designed to help keep the state's highway roadsides clean and attractive. Each Spring and Fall, club members come together for a morning of work to help clean up the designated 2-mile stretch of highway along M-553. It's a chance to make a difference in our community while enjoying fun and fellowship.
Janzen House

Each thanksgiving holiday, the club takes up a collection of thanksgiving dinner items for the Janzen House. Turkey, stuffing, pie, and all the fixings! The Janzen House provides transitional housing and shelter for low-income and homeless individuals. With the cooperation of other local agencies, they are also able to assist residents in securing employment, permanent housing, etc.
JJ Packs

Marquette Harbor Rotary is a proud supporter of JJ Packs. JJ Packs is a public, not-for-profit effort to assist with the approximately 68 hours of hunger that some UP school children experience between the free lunch they receive at school on Friday afternoon and the free breakfast they receive at school on Monday morning. JJ Packs provides a nourishing pack of healthy food to approximately 230 MAPS students every Friday to help them through the weekend.
Noquemanon Ski Marathon

Service above Self is what we do! During the Noquemanon Ski Marathon, members of Marquette Harbor Rotary assisted with getting all the skier's gear to the finish line. We've provided this service for many years. Supporting events in our community takes a village, and we're happy to help! The Noquemanon is one of the largest point-to-point ski marathons in America and is a premier rugged and remote ski marathon experience.
